A Manual Osteopathic Practitioner is trained in four primary hands-on osteopathic disciplines: Osteoarticular adjustments, Fascial release, Craniosacral techniques, and Visceral Manipulation. Osteoarticular adjustments and fascial release are also common in professions like physiotherapy and chiropractic, often referred to as Manual Therapy. Visceral Manipulation is a gentle manual therapy that assesses and treats the viscera (organs), their positioning, suspension system, and the fascia/ligaments that connect them to the musculoskeletal system. Imbalances in the viscera and its connective tissue can affect posture and lead to imbalances impacting various systems, including musculoskeletal, nervous, vascular, respiratory, and digestive systems. The craniosacral system includes the bones of the head, spinal cord, the membranes, and fluid that surround and support the brain and spinal cord, attaching directly to the bones. Dysfunction in any part of this system can cause local effects like headaches, migraines, or spinal pain, as well as nervous system symptoms such as nerve impingement or end organ dysfunction, affecting digestion, respiration, or gynecological health.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the practice of manipulating the body's soft tissues, such as muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments, and skin. Massage therapists apply a range of techniques to alleviate stress, relieve muscle tension, foster relaxation, and enhance general well-being.

Fascial Stretch

Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is a stretching method that targets the fascia, the connective tissue encasing muscles, bones, and joints. FST aims to boost flexibility, alleviate pain, and increase joint mobility by focusing on the fascial system. Athletes often use it for recovery, reaping benefits like faster recuperation, improved range of motion, and chronic pain relief.
